Peoples Bank announces Jay Bhakta as Executive Director of Commercial Loan Advisors

Dennis Ammann, President and Chief Executive Officer at Peoples Bank, announced Jay Bhakta has joined Peoples Bank Commercial Loan Advisors as the Executive Director.

Bhakta comes from the loan origination team at ValueXpress with over 20 years of experience. He has completed over 300 transactions nationwide focusing primarily on hotel loans. Ammann said, “We are excited to partner with Jay. He will be able to offer our commercial mortgage customers extensive knowledge and experience in so many industries.  His ability to put loans together quickly and effectively saves the customers valuable time and resources.”

Bhakta is a Lifetime Member of the Asian-American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA) as well as a member of the Gujarati Samaj of Mississippi. Bhakta is an expert in fixed- and floating-rate CMBS, SBA 7(a), SBA 504, and conventional loans for hospitality, convenience stores, and other income-producing assets, including multifamily, retail, office, industrial, and self-storage properties.

He is a well-respected member of the Asian-American community and brings vast financial knowledge of mortgage finance to his clients. Additionally, Bhakta has unique skills as an owner and operator of hotels.

Bhakta is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in Banking and Finance. He and his wife, Amisha, have two sons, Dylan and Aryan.
